This series developed in direct response to my previous series of self-portraits I want to be a princess and the desire to return to working with the medium, encaustic. The combination of oval format paintings suggestive of a mirror or cameo, and the titles associating sentiments with the coloured encaustic surfaces can be considered as abstract portraits of emotional states.
