For these pieces I used one of the quintessential Spirograph forms: a heart shaped center looped by four circles. The line drawing was imported into the computer application Photoshop where I reproduced it to create twelve line drawings. These twelve “circled hearts” were organized into a pattern that was printed and traced onto the watercolour paper with an embossing tool. Finally, while meditating on a friend or family member I worked on developing the image by filling chosen shapes with floods of watercolour to create a unique mandala like form.
